The legendary islands in the Firth of Flensburg (Flensborg Fjord) with an amazing flora and a rich animal life. In the summer season is hourly sail to the Big Ox-Island (Store Okseø).

Flensborg

The old habour town in the botton of The Firth of Flensburg whith its rich cultural traditions. All summer many events and folk festivals take place at the newly renovated water front. Alongside the habour you will find a rich variety of cafees, restaurants and 'water holes'. In the pedestrian street and 'the old town' many of the houses and buildings have roots in the danish history.

Sønderborg

A town beautifully located in the Sound of Als (Alssund) with good shopping facilities, cozy restaurants and many activities for children. See a local summer revue, 'The riding at the ring' and the Sønderborg Palace with its fascinating exibitions and the complete history of South Jutland from the Middle Ages to our time. Also good opportunites for maritime experiences.

Dybbøl Mølle

The Mill of Dybbøl (Dybbøl Mølle) is a national symbol and nowadays a museum with changing exhibitions about its history. The mill is located in an historical environment close to Sønderborg. Adjacent to the mill is The Historical Center 1864, an eventcenter showing the historical facts about the for Denmark fateful battle at Dybbøl in 1864.The area has natural trails on the ramparts with a beautiful view over The Sound of Als (Alssund).

Gråsten

A cosy small town with the Palace (Gråsten Slot) beautifully situated and surrounded by gardens, lakes and wood. Queen Margrethe II and the royal family reside the palace every summer. In periods with non presence of the royal family the park is open for public from sunset to dawn. Also the richly adorned chapel serves as a parish church with public services.
